MILESTONES Child Development Centre is Dwarka’s first CDC led by a Developmental Paediatrician and has been conceptualized as a holistic centre based on a research-proven integrated approach to child development. The centre has
been envisioned and designed to provide all-inclusive and specialized care under one roof. The centre is medically supervised by a Developmental Paediatrician and Medical
Geneticist, along with a team of multidisciplinary professionals, including a Psychologist, Speech therapist, Occupational therapist, Play therapist, Physiotherapist, and Special Educator. At Milestones, we follow an exhaustive approach to evaluate all children to formulate a customized and need-based approach to treatment.

At MILESTONES we believe that every child is unique and the early years of life are very important for a child’s health and development. According to the estimates, developmental disorders affect more than 21 million children under the age of fiveyears in India. These developmental delays can be recognized early through regular and comprehensive assessment techniques. Prompt and early intervention shows encouraging results with developmentally supportive care.

Developmental Screening and Assessments

A Developmental Assessment is a comprehensive review of the attainment of a child’s developmental milestones, to assess various aspects of the child's
functioning, done by a Developmental and Behavioural pediatrician.

Genetic Consultation and Screening

Many neurodevelopmental conditions like Autism, Down syndrome, and Fragile X have an underlying genetic component, and genetic consultation with a Clinical/Medical Geneticist helps identify the cause to avoid the recurrence of the condition in the families.

Psychological Counseling

The psychologist evaluates the child’s strengths and weaknesses and work
closely with other professionals to help the child. They also reinforce positive
parenting techniques and guide parents in managing challenging behaviours.
Child and adolescent counselling is aimed at young people to help them make
sense of their feelings, behaviours and thoughts .

Vaccinations

Vaccines are available for all age groups including
newborn, child and adolescents for the prevention of common diseases
like DPT, pneumonia, measles, typhoid, hepatitis, HPV, influenza etc.

CBT/ABA Therapy

For children with special needs, two of the most commonly used treatment
models are Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy (CBT). The therapy is commonly used for behavioral modification in
ADHD and ASD.

Occupational Therapy/ Sensory Integration

Occupational therapy is aimed at achieving and improving the skills in
analyzing daily activities and relate to self-help skills, feeding and food
tolerance, dressing and undressing, toileting, adaptive behaviour and play,
social skills, and sensory, motor, and postural development.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy is the assessment and treatment of communication problems
and speech disorders. It is performed by speech-language pathologists
(SLPs), often referred to as speech therapists.

Special Education

Special education programs and services adapt content, teaching
methodology, and delivery instructions to meet the appropriate needs of each child.

DQ/IQ Testing

DQ, and IQ each refer to standard scores that are used to compare a child's functioning to that of a normal age group child. That is, they compare your child's performance to the “average” performance of a large group of children of the same age.

Newborn Developmental follow-up clinic and Early Stimulation

The Newborn Developmental Follow-Up Clinic provides services to at-risk
infants from birth to two years. High-risk newborn and preterm babies are at
increased risk of developmental and speech delays. Early screening and a
thorough evaluation which includes both developmental and hearing
evaluation is recommended. The Newborn Follow-Up Clinic's goals are to
support optimal growth and developmental outcomes in children and to
provide psychosocial support for parents and caregivers. Early
Stimulation helps babies develop their senses and engage mentally. It also
helps them reach developmental milestones optimally and develop motor
skills.

Preschool Readiness and Intervention

Preschool readiness is when a child is developmentally prepared to
transition into the preschool environment. It can also be called
kindergarten readiness. School readiness includes many skills that
develop over time, from birth through school entrance age. These skills
include:

1. Social-emotional
2. Cognitive
3. Language and literacy
4. Physical development
