A Developmental Assessment is a comprehensive review of the attainment of a child’s developmental milestones, to assess various aspects of the child's functioning, done by a Developmental and Behavioural pediatrician. Developmental
assessments can:

o Help identify possible developmental problems and the need for further evaluation
o Recognition of the child's strengths and deficits
o Identification of the children's eligibility for programs (such as early
intervention programs)
o Help in planning appropriate interventions.
